My name is Blessing Tshabalala and I want to share with you about the things that I notice about my language use. I grew up in South Africa until the age of 5 and I have been going back and forth since.
I would say what I recognize about my language use is that I speak differently wit different types of people and I feel that this is something I learned naturally from traveling. at the age of fourteen I went back to South Africa for a year, this is when I recognized the biggest change in my use of English language when in confrontation with others, when I was in the town I adjusted to how people spoke and acted which was mostly lively and colourful personalities however in the town people were more calm and normal. Another thing I've noticed about my language use is that when texting I tend to use more slang and I tend to use a lot of apostrophes- this has effected my Essay writing because I have learned to use them a lot.
